When Mia was a child she didn't play with dolls. She played with
an array of stuffed animals, wishing they would come to life so
she could take care of them. Her love for sports kept Mia highly
occupied thru High School and College in New York, where she earned
a degree in Business Management on a full athletic scholarship
playing volleyball. Life seems to have come full circle now that
she has graduated from Vet Tech school.
In
recent years Mia has worked with the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding
Network in Galveston, assisting in the rehab of stranded dolphins
and whales on the TX. coast, rescuing dolphins from the aftermath
of hurricane Katrina, as well as spending many hours at the NOAA
Sea Turtle Facility. She has also volunteered taking care of tigers,
lions, cougars, jaguars and helped in the adoption of city shelter
dogs and cats.
Mia enjoys scuba diving, traveling, photography, music, and spending
time with her precious doggies GiGe and Chrissie. Her Cloe will
always occupy a special place in her heart.
