Francisco Jasso was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, as one of nine children of a rancher father and a stay-at-home mother. He attended different private schools before entering La Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia at the University of Tamaulipas in 1983. Along with managing the challenging veterinary curriculum, he was also very active in school politics. He graduated with his doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1988, and a year later he immigrated to the United States. After moving to Dallas in 1993, Francisco worked in a number of area veterinary practices, including the Emergency Animal Clinic, where he continues to have a position. Katy Trail Animal Hospital welcomed Francisco to the staff in February 2008. He currently is in charge of the surgery section.
Francisco met his wife, Elva, in Dallas. They married in 1995 and have four beautiful and "strong hearted" children: Melanie, Francisco Jr., and the twins Carolina and Cristina. His extended family includes an array of five happy, rescued dogs.
