Since her graduation in 1987 from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Gloria Maria Johnson has practiced in Dallas. She is the eldest child in a military family; her Air Force father met her Spanish mother while stationed in Zaragoza. Dr. Johnson was born in Chicopee, Massachusetts, and grew up in Nebraska, Spain, and San Antonio, where her parents still live. She met Dr. Murray while in veterinary school; she was a third year student and Dr. Murray was an intern. They have been close friends ever since, traveling and hiking the country together over the years. A strong advocate for unwanted or cast-off pets, Dr. Johnson lives with six rescues of her own: Little Rickie, Agnes, Billie Lynn, Lula Belle and Tosca. Her professional special interests include surgery, dentistry, and behavior. She passionately promotes exercise and offers other recommendations for happier, healthier, and mentally balanced pets.
