Amber was born and raised in De Soto, Texas and
is the youngest of three girls. She graduated from De Soto High
School in 2005. She started her career with animals when she took
a job at the SPCA, where she worked for 6 months. There, she rescued
a sick German shepherd puppy that came to be known as Kujo. Amber
and Hujo live together with 6 cats, and 3 other dogs, including
Marilyn, a Chihuahua who personifies her namesake. Amore recent
addition is Ace, a kitten left at the clinic doorstep when he
was just 10 days old; he has since blossomed with his new mother
into a handsome shorthair with smokey stripes.
