Sandra began working as a veterinary assistant in 1978 and became a Registered Veterinary Technician after passing the Texas State Board Exam in 1988. Her years of experience include triage care at the Emergency Animal Clinic in Dallas and at the one in Carrollton. Sandra enjoys keeping her knowledge up-to-date by taking many hours of continuing education as well as attending a variety of professional symposiums each year. Sandra's daughter, Kimberly, also works at a veterinary hospital in Stephenville and attends Tarleton State University.

Sandra enjoys taking "jungle" adventures in Costa Rica, reading, boating, camping, hiking, horses, and also attending the Dallas Theater Center. Her hobby is aviculture, and she raises parrots in outdoor, natural settings. Her animal companions include her dogs, Cowboy, Gussie, and Belle. She has a newly adopted kitten named Connie and dozens of birds.
